The Farm Inc.

The Farm Inc.

This Nashville-bred trio incorporates elements of blues, R&B, rock, and even reggae into its self-titled first album. Nick Hoffman, Damien Horne, and Krista Marie ground their music in their shared chemistry as songwriters and vocalists, at times inviting comparisons to the likes of Lady Antebellum and Gloriana. “Home Sweet Home,” “Sweet Sweet Sunshine," and “Fresh off the Farm” set the tone with radiant vocal harmonies, tasty fiddle licks (courtesy of Hoffman), and positive, rural-themed lyrics. Elsewhere on the album, the individual band members take the spotlight to show off their distinctive (but complementary) talents. Hoffman proves himself an appealing country balladeer on “Be Grateful” and “That 100 Miles.” Horne brings a touch of Southern soul to the acoustic-centered groove tunes “Walkin’” and “Nowhere Road.” Marie gets her standout moment with the bittersweet “Every Time I Fall in Love.” From the swampy blues workout “This Train I’m On” to the swaggering, Caribbean-accented “Little Boat,” The Farm, Inc. covers an impressive amount of territory on this promising debut set.
