27 tracks of personal favorites

You know how on most albums there's always those one or two songs that are clearly the best on the album (ex. "This is the tale of Win and Regine" and "The C.N. Tower belongs to the Dead", from Has a Good Home, by Final Fantasy)? This album doesn't have that. I've listened to almost all of the 27 tracks on this gigantic album and I think that each one has the potential to be that "special song" to someone, a song that touches them so personally and intimately that they can't describe why they like it to their friends.

joel plaskett, finally .

Love, Love, Love.

He does it again, again, again!

Who could blame you to be hesitant about buying a 27 track album? I can assure you Plaskett did not, in fact did not pull a Sloan with this one; every track is original and pleasant to the ears, with very rich layers of vocals and guest performers. Each track pulls heartstrings in ways you can't explain. Maybe it's the album's slightly folky east-coast charm that is most certainly there, and very appreciated (although most wouldn't admit it). "Three" is a very nice place to go after "Ashtray Rock". "You Let Me Down", "Heartless, Heartless, Heartless" (written and performed with Bill Plaskett, his father) and "Sailors Eyes" are my favorites of the album.

Born in Nova Scotia on April 18, 1975, Plaskett was raised in Halifax and he began making music in his early teens. In 1992, Plaskett formed the indie rock band Thrush Hermit with guitarist Rob Benvie, bassist Ian McGettigan and drummer Michael Catano. Plaskett...
