iTunes Review

On their self-titled 1991 debut, Cypress Hill carved out a niche within Los Angeles gangsta rap: tough, funky, and a little unhinged. MCs Sen Dog and B-Real thread Spanish and English rhymes through tracks like “Latin Lingo,” while the group mix hardcore street tales ("Hole in the Head") with goofy non-sequiturs and stoner pride. Whether taunting cops on "Pigs" or swaggering cartoonishly on "The Phuncky Feel One," B-Real and his signature high-pitched singsong cut through the haze like a beacon.
