Halifax Indie Girl Rock Band Nails It

This is my second Plumtree album, and it's probably my favorite. Nothing could ever top the guitar in "Tropical" , or the pure indie feel of "I Don't Know" and "In The Sink". Some might say that Plumtree was in their infancy when this, their first album, was recorded, but it's clear to me that they know their genre and what rocks.

The Halifax punk-pop quartet Plumtree were formed in 1993 by Amanda Braden (vocals, guitar), Nina Martin (bass), and sisters Carla and Lynette Gillis (guitar and drums, respectively); all four girls were in their mid-teens at the time. They released several singles and recorded a full-length album, Mass Teen Fainting (the album title was taken from the liner notes of a Bay City Rollers album).
