iTunes Review

Opening a pop album with a callback to The Sound of Music is a risky move, but Gwen Stefani knows how to make gambles pay off. The chant-powered “Wind It Up” launches Stefani on a whirlwind trip through exciting new territories, although she makes sure to take the occasional breather. The Akon-assisted title track updates soda shop sing-alongs for the 21st century, while “Yummy” backs Stefani’s teasing boasts with a bouncing ball beat. “Wonderful Life,” meanwhile, reinforces her status as one of pop’s prime power balladeers.

Catchy, Funky and No Harajuku Girls

Don't get me wrong, I love Gwen. Her diverse funky style really kicks. However, I was bored with those Japanese girls and their contreversey. On this new album they are nowhere to be seen. All the music is creative and different. Some even has hints of No Doubt in there. This is a MUST for the Christmas season. All No Doubt fans will be happy to see a new album in the coming months. Key Tracks: Wind It Up-Gwen brings Sound of Music to the table and this Fergie sounding single rocks! The Sweet Escape-Awesome whooping and hollering song with Akon saying his four words fairly well. One of My FAvvs Early Winter-A little No Doubt in there. This is one of My Favvs on my album. Yummy-Girls (mostly gurls) Who love rap will love this sorta sexy almost funny song. (see fergalicous) U Started It-My Favv! It is simple and cool short but sweet U Started It Rocks!

As she puts out more and more music her talent lowers to that of a 2 year old. I would rather listen to my 1 year old nephew bang on a drum than put my poor eardrums through the pain of listening to her attempt to sing. She should have stayed with a group rather than attempt to go solo. "Wind it up" has got to be the worst song I have heard all year oh wait make that all decade.

wonderful life

i think the total album will appeal to her fans...i am more a no doubt fan...there is a song that i cannot get over's a wonderfull life....truly moving, especially the beat...reminds of so many things...inspires is just plain powerful. it will release endorphins...and make you feel dreamy...thanks gwen for this song.

Before she discovered she could write songs, Gwen Stefani was looking forward to a life of marriage, children, and white picket fences. When her brother introduced her to ska and new wave music, it set off a chain of events that would eventually lead to millions of albums sold and a Madonna-sized public image that extended past music and into the worlds of film, fashion, and technology. Born and raised in Fullerton, California, Stefani had a musical epiphany at the age of 17. She had fallen in...
