Editors’ Notes

Although Mechanical Bull has no shortage of the arena-filling gusto that fueled earlier hits like “Sex on Fire” and “Use Somebody,” the Tennessee quartet also display a lighter touch on their sixth studio album. As frontman Caleb Followill croons an aching hook in homage to “sentimental girls” on the opening “Supersoaker,” the ringing guitars and a steady percussive pulse radiate a breezy exuberance. Throughout Mechanical Bull, Kings of Leon balance the youthful swagger of full-blast rock tunes like “Don’t Matter” and “Tonight” with contemplative singles like “Wait for Me” and “Beautiful War.” The result is a visceral collection that softens the energetic punch of their early anthems with the skilled, melodic maturity of seasoned songwriters.

When you pre-order Mechanical Bull, “Wait For Me” will begin downloading instantly. You will be charged for the track, and the remainder of the album’s cost will be charged separately when it becomes available. An email will remind you to download your copy.

Customer Reviews

My favorite band!

I love both songs I've heard from the new album! Can't wait for September 24th!!! They are great recorded and even better live! They do not disappoint!

Thoroughly enjoyable!

Heard the whole new album and must say that it's VERY good! Not a single bad song on here! I felt it was a mix of their older sound with new sounds mixed with a lil blues and soul! Good job KOL!

Love this.

This actually sounds like Kings of leon. It's a well made album. I've been listening to them for a long time.

The Tennessee-bred quartet debuted in 2003 with the Holy Roller Novocaine EP, whose blend of raw, unpolished boogie rock was further explored on their debut full-length, Youth & Young Manhood. Such revivalist music was matched by a similarly revivalist appearance — including long...
