A good LP. The songs on this album stray a little bit from their studio versions. All of which benefit from the usual Black Crowes Live experiences. A heavier guitar, a more crisp sound, and general liveliness of the tracks are greatly increased. Though this rose does have some thorn's (pun intended). A few balance issues I feel would have contributed to a better release. The audience should benefit from a live album release as it gives the engineers time to play with the subtle differences from the albums as well as focus on particular instruments. This ablum lacks that especially on Bad Luck, if you listen hard you can hear the back up singers. Though they should be more front and center. Aside from that this album is very good, but not flawless.

At the time of their 1990 debut, the kind of rock & roll the Black Crowes specialized in was sorely out of style. Only Guns N' Roses came close to approximating a vintage Stones-style raunch, but they were too angry and jagged to pull it off completely. The Black Crowes, on the other hand, replicated that Stonesy swagger and Faces boogie perfectly. Vocalist Chris Robinson appropriated the sound and style of vintage Rod Stewart, while brother Rich Robinson fused Keith Richards' lean guitar attack...
