great album!

This i truly a great album by Sam Roberts. The more I listen to this cd the more I love it. There are so many good songs here and they are all rockin! cant wait for his new album

Flame a torch for Can-Rock

Sam Roberts smashes onto the scene with a great album that has both light and dark moments but is consistantly good. Lighter than the following Chemical City, We Were Born in a Flame shows the variety he can offer. Songs like Brother Down and Where Have All the Good People Gone? garnered Roberts popular success but works such as Taj Mahal, This Wreck of a Life and especially No Sleep show a side which proves a real character to the album. The little known anthem seen in The Canadian Dream is just another reason as to why Roberts is loved from east to west and further south than most acts as pure Canadian as Roberts. Leading Matt Mays, The Trews and The Novaks, a scene is emerging from our great white north that shows a new vitality in Canadian music that hasn't come since the early days or the Hip and BNL.

I can never get tired of it!!!!!

This is one of the only albums I can listen to forever and ever, over and over and over and still love it more each time, although right away you will fall in love with it. No weak songs here. A beautiful, fun and strong rock album with some ballad type songs thrown in as well. Buy the whole thing!!!!! and also buy chemical city---although you may not like it at first, buy the secound or third listen you willl recognise it as an even better album. Of course after listening to We Were Born In a Flame, you will wonder a how a better album is even possible.
