Editors’ Notes

Adam Lambert’s second-place finish in season eight of American Idol proved yet again that most of the time, it’s better to be the show’s supporting champ; he didn’t have to tame his vampy style, he was able to come out of the closet in a Rolling Stone interview, and he won’t have to water down his personality. For Your Entertainment features songwriting contributions by an array of notables including P!nk, Lady GaGa, Rivers Cuomo, Linda Perry and Justin Hawkins of the Darkness (to name a few). And though Lambert’s debut meshes Euro-pop, new wave, disco, stadium rock and contemporary R&B, it resonates with the honesty of a musician who isn’t apologetic in his flamboyance nor ashamed to fall back on his theatrical roots, which is quite refreshing. The Hawkins-penned “Music Again” opens with the operatic aplomb of a ‘70s Queen epic while Cuomo’s “Pick U Up” sounds like a lost Weezer hit. Lady GaGa’s “Fever” is so undeniably infectious and fun, it begs for more collaborations.

Definitely worth it

Those of you that came on here to "rate" his album 1 star, but instead just wanted to comment on his AMA performance, really sicken me.

Who are you to come on here and judge him based on that one performance, which, by the way, I don't think was that bad? Nobody freaks out about the overt sexuality and shock factor of Lady Gaga. She is a good artist and I respect her, but she's just one example of the a performer that isn't afraid to express her sexuality. Why are people judging Adam for what he did at the AMAs? Besides, you should be rating the ALBUM, not the AMA PERFORMANCE. Get a life, please.

This album is fantastic. Some very catchy tunes on here, and Adam's vocals do not disappoint.

As advice for the future, those of you who want to complain about his performance, do not do it here.

Fabulously awesome!!!

Adam Lambert does not disappoint with this album. It's good from beginning to end. Very solid. One of the rare albums I listen to without skipping a song. That hasn't happened in a long, long time. And I love how the songs aren't all the same kind. How they all vary in style. And they each reflect what he loves and they all show his amazing voice. And the whole thing totally demonstrates how much fun he's had while doing this album.

Two thumbs way, way up. 5 stars! Amazing!!

Great Album from an artist who speaks his mind

Shame on people who say Adam's AMA performance was gross. Why can't he do the same thing every female pop/rock does??? Anyways I guess it goes to show that most people are still homophobic, which is a shame. Love the album overall.
