Can Oregon do anything wrong?

I don't want to make comparisons, because this is some of the freshest music I've heard in ages, but I know it always helps for other buyers. While he is not really comparable to anyone, here and there while listening to his music, I think about Johnny Cash for his outlaw-persona and lyrical content. Other times, some of his more melancholy prose make me remember Elliot Smith. His voice can make me think of Eddie Vedder, but deeper and richer. Whatelse...I don't know...oh yeah, he kinda looks like Greg Allman....I hate comparisons. I first heard him in a Malloy Brothers surf film called Shelter and I could not shake his song from my head. Great movie - better than Varsity Blues.
