Editors’ Notes

The Joshua Tree cemented U2’s status as the greatest rock band to rise out of the ’80s. Bono’s bell-like voice and The Edge’s ringing guitar lines were honed to deceptively simple melodic perfection, bolstered by the rhythm section’s propulsive marches and airy atmospherics from producers Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois. They were firing on all cylinders here, attacking social barriers (“Where the Streets Have No Name”) and insipid politics (“Bullet the Blue Sky”) while making heartbreak sound anthemic (“With or Without You”).

Customer Reviews

Brilliant Still 20 Years Later

The Joshua Tree is brilliant. The Delux version is only for those hardcore U2 fans. Full of B-Sides and rareities, and even a new one (Waves Of Sorrow) which was finally finished a month ago. The remastered album is a great way to hold U2 fan over till some new stuff. The Joshua Tree is their greatest and this is a great collection of songs.

C'mon Bono, Edge, Larry, Adam...Give Us A Break on the $$$

We buy all your albums, come to the shows, buy the clothes...We've been faithful and you guys are wealthy. Can't you at least give us a break on the price of a remastered album please? Although they're great songs, $20 for songs that I already have many versions of (live etc) is just too much to ask. I even went broke to get to Hawaii last year to see your last show. Share the wealth boys.

No more candy

Hello Guys, Again How many times will I buy this album ? At every corner there is a suprise song (there great but?). Don't end up like Marley... Give us a final anthology like the Beatles... no more candy. Give us the box Still Good Album after 21 years.... a classic Bonfire 666

Through a combination of zealous righteousness and post-punk experimentalism, U2 became one of the most popular rock & roll bands in the world — equally known for their sweeping sound as for their grandiose statements about politics and religion. The Edge provided the group with a signature sound by creating sweeping sonic landscapes with his heavily processed, echoed guitars. Though the Edge's style wasn't conventional, the rhythm section of Larry Mullen, Jr. and Adam Clayton played the...
