Wicked (Original Broadway Cast Recording)

I saw the Wicked tour show with my choir in Toronto, and was converted on the spot. Wicked is, simply, one of the best examples of the Broadway genre. It is fanciful, intelligent, and brilliantly ties in with its mother musical, 'The Wizard of Oz.' You will never think of the Wicked Witch of the West the same way again; Idina Menzel as Elphaba is one of the most powerful and positive female role models out there, and her voice evokes a massive emotional (and not to mention musical) range. 'Defying Gravity' is one of the best girl-power anthems out there, and 'No Good Deed' still makes me cry. The entire album--nay, the entire musical--is brilliantly written, and flawlessly performed by the cast. Several hundred listens later I'm still floored by this album...and now, when watching 'The Wizard of Oz', I cheer for the Witch every time.
I loved this play!! I just saw it on Broadway if you ever get the chance to see it it's amazing! The music is great too although it would be a little hard to understand all the songs if you don't know the plot. Reading the book could be helpful! ;) (Even though I haven't read it) I'd suggest 1. Defying Gravity 2. Popular 3. What is this feeling? If you ever get the chance to see the play... GO!!!
BEST ALBUM EVER!!!!!
This is a great album. If you have seen the wicked musical, you will freakin' LOVE this album. If you haven't seen the wicked musical, you will still love this album. Anyone here who listens to rap, rock, alternative, pop, THOSE ARE CRAP. THIS IS WAY BETTER. If you are a real music lover, BUY THIS ALBUM!!!!!!! By the way, if u don't want the whole album, the best 3 tracks on it are popular and defying gravity.
