Even though this is an album of secular songs, it’s no surprise to learn that Phillip LaRue is a Christian pop artist. The title track is a hymn-like ode about his wife sung in a devotional tone. The Nashville songwriter reveals a country-pop heart across these songs, which are mainly based around acoustic guitar and soothing keyboards. He really hits home on “When I See You” and “Diane,” two sweetly sung, aching ballads about family.
