The Best of Dick & Dee Dee is a well-chosen 12-song best-of that includes all their chart hits. "The Mountain's High" and "Thou Shalt Not Steal" remain the clear highlights, though some of the rest is interesting early-'60s pop fare. Includes is the rare 1965 single "Blue Turns to Grey," a Jagger/Richards cover produced by Andrew Loog Oldham that has the Stones themselves on backing instruments and vocals.

A difficult-to-categorize male-female duo from L.A., Dick & Dee Dee had pretty fair success with material that drew from doo wop, teen idol fare, pop, and even soul/R&B in the first half of the 1960s. The pair's biggest and best hit was their first, the moody, minor-key mid-tempo ballad "The Mountain's High," which reached number two in 1961.
