It is just... unexpected

I bought this album thinking that I was going to hear again that SP I knew for a long time. Surprise! The sound has changed, and the thing that impressed me the most is the variety on the album! From up-beat to smooth tunes, Simple Plan simply did it again. Totally worth the wait! In my opinion, "When I'm Gone", "The End" and "Save You" are some of the best, but everything on this album deserves your attention!

Solid Album

When I'm Gone- very catchy, probably Simple Plan's best song. Very mature compared to their previous songs. Take my hand- the intro riff is similar to Me Against the World. This is another excellent song on the album. The chorus is very catchy. The End- suprisingly I don't mind the techno-esque intro. Pierre's falsetto is a little strange in this song but the chorus is again very good. Your Love is A Lie- This is probably the biggest disappointment on the album. The intro is one that makes me think immediately of Jesse McCartney. The song itself is ok but it's weird to hear a purely pop song from Simple Plan. Save You- sad topic. Pierre's vocals are good on this song. Generation- I don't like the intro. Simple Plan, you are a punk pop band, not poser hip hop. Once the hip hop stuff is gone, it's a good song. Time To Say Goodbye- very reminiscent of the old Simple Plan. "You make me sick I need to walk away". I Can Wait Forever- Simple Plan's attempt at having a romantic ballad. Kinda sappy but overall pretty good. Holding On- Reminds me of Still Not Getting Any but more mature. Pierre's falsetto works on this song. Actually a very good song. No Love- a sad song but the orchestra is very effective with the guitars. What If- one of those classic Simple Plan "I can beat the odds" songs. But this one is better than the other ones. Running Out of Time- definately reminds me of NPNHJB. Overall very impressive from Simple Plan. A few strange parts but Simple Plan triumphs with this more mature but essentially Simple Plan-esque album.

A+ Simple Plan!

Simple plan, You got some talk around the schools as being a band that no one likes. Bad sound.. Bad albums.. Bad everything. I think that everyone listens to you, but they are scared to admit it. I'm surprised on the new sound! Track 1 - Good Single! Loved it! Track 2 - Must say its the best song on the Album The rest of the tracks are still A+ Holding on is like AVA but not so EMO =) Its wonderful! Good work guys... looking and sounding amazing! Thanks for breaking the Jack J and City and color trend this month! We needed some rock on the charts!

Simple Plan is one of Canada's most successful punk-pop acts, featuring a lineup comprised of former high school pals Pierre Bouvier (vocals), Jeff Stinco (guitar), David Desrosiers (bass), Sebastien Lefebvre (guitar), and Chuck Comeau (drums). The quintet initially came together when Comeau and Bouvier founded Reset at age 13. Reset proved to be a modestly successful band in Canada, touring the country with other punk groups like MxPx, Ten Foot Pole, and Face to Face. A debut album followed in 1997;...
