Articulation Station Pro 4+

What We Liked:

I have been looking for a good articulation app to use with my five-year-old who has articulation delays. I’m glad I took a chance and downloaded the free version of Articulation Station to give it a try! I quickly purchased a module for the sound we were working on after testing the sample sound module (one we didn’t personally need), and there’s been no going back for us. We use this app every day for our speech practice sessions.

The interactive elements let your child take part in the process and the clear audio and recording features help your child compare their own speech with the recorded voice. A variety of activities are provided to prevent boredom (like the matching game), scores for multiple children can be tracked easily and all sounds (initial, medial, and finial) are provided. Unlike many articulation apps you get words alone, words in sentences and words in stories (even with some simple comprehension!) These are the elements that really set this articulation app apart from some other free samples I tried.
Maybe most importantly for homeschooling families – Articulation Station doesn’t rely primarily upon technical terms, but has simple instructions parents can use to progress through each sound until mastery is achieved.

The graphics are very clear, crisp, and colorful. They are very well done with consistently high quality photography throughout.

If your child only has a few trouble sounds you might find it more cost effective to download the free app and buy the individual modules you need, but if your child has quite a few trouble sounds that you’ll need to tackle (like ours), the Pro version might be your best option because it comes with all of the modules – no in-app purchases needed!

If you have a child who needs help with their pronunciation, Articulation Station is an excellent articulation practice app! Incredibly full functioned, easy to use, comprehensive, and professionally designed – this is our go-to articulation app. It is WELL worth your time to take the free version of this app through its paces – whether you buy individual modules or the full Pro version, I strongly feel this app is a great investment.

Piles of therapy cards have been replaced. I love it! So do my students.

I use this app to implement the at-home portion of a guided SLP program and it's one of the best intervention aids I've found for a kid like mine. The start, end and blend features are amazing. I wish it was easier to target "minimal pairs" but the blends provide a lot of really good mouth work. The instant rewards could be amped up a bit as they are pretty lackluster for the grind a kid has to go through.
