Worked as advertised
I'm backing up everything as we speak and I've looked at the folder where everything is stored… its pretty straight forward, one file per email:
- datetime_email-subject.EML all classified within distincts years/months folders.
Like said in a previous reviews, more options would not be bad also an email archived viewer would help.
The only think that I think lack of explinations/FAQs, and I still have to find out is how to restore emails once backed up:
- does it restore it in Gmail
- is it all emails that will be restored or how to restore only one of only few precise emails
Overall I like it.
Does what it says on the label
I'm really glad I've created a backup. I've heard a few horror stories of people locked out of the gmail accounts, so it's nice to just have all that backed up somewhere.
The app seems solid so far… a simple mail-viewer would be nice, as would a progress bar on the backup. As would more options for how often to run the backup (as far as I can see it only lets you choose once a day or every hour).
I can't seem to figure out how to get attachments out of the .eml files either. Looks like they are there tho...

It was really easy to set up. Very minimalist, you keep looking for more features, things to fill in etc. But it works. Couple of issues/bugs. #1 I ended up geting almost double the number of emails that is counted in Gmail. #2 I ended up with a lot of emails that are zero bytes, almost the same number as the extra emails in #1, but there were no duplicates that I could find. A bit of a mystery. But I like it.
