I read through the quick start then notated a basic melody. Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, just the first stanza, then added a few chords. The App informed me that I had just created 1 of 3 Leadsheets.
The pricing scheme, in Canadian dollars is:
20 leadsheets for $14.99
100 leadsheets for $27.99
Unlimited for $69.99
Feeling sad at the greed of this little app’s creators, yet still curious to see what the Export/Sharing function would consist of, I viewed a preview of a PDF leadsheet. It was poorly formatted (with many empty measures following) and only filled a third of the page. Not a finished product.
Once the App is actually working properly, with a different payment approach it could work far better. The concept of paying for a limited number of leadsheets goes against artistic creativity, and the whole reason I searched for such an app in the first place was to use a basic editor app (such as this) that could notate a melody and print chord symbols. In other words it doesn’t have enough capability to cost more than $10-20. I would have gladly paid $10 for unlimited leadsheets and recommended it to all of my friends, also because it’s a work in progress.
In-app upgrades are what you want to have in an app like this. For example:
- $5 different fonts
- $10 for head arrangement/horn chart capability (chord symbols, melody, rhythm shots, and bass line, with rhythmic slash notation on connected treble/bass staves
Anyway, I was excited to see what someone’s take on this app would be, but put off by the 1980s Shareware tactics.
Don't waste your time! Nothing works inside of this app. Especially on iPhone. Plus, it constantly crashes. Out of many promised instruments only piano is available and not possible to change it to another instruments. The app would crash too if you try...
Also, there is no way to add rhythm slashes and measure repeat symbols.
Support does not exist. Only the bug report and feedback.
If they can make all work plus add some important symbols it could be a great app. But so far it act like a non working concept app...
