Disk Clean Pro 4+

Appears to work exactly as described!

Bought this app yesterday, ran it; and it seemed to clean a lot of stuff. My MacBook also seemed to run noticeably faster. So my first impression was very positive.

But this morning, I noticed that all the mail rules were deleted, except for the first one. So why the 1-star rating? Well, because I will now have to recreate dozens of rules and be annoyed with unwanted messages for the next few months; and also because I must now wonder what else this app does that I’m not yet aware of? If it can delete valid entries as obvious as Mail rules, what other unwanted changes does it make? Needless to say that I will not be running it again. If I do, I will have to pay particular attention to what it’s about to do and hopefully have a chance to delete certain items that I do not want touched before executing the clean-up. My point is that no disk cleaner should automatically select Mail rules as a valid candidate for the wash!

I DO NOT RECOMMEND this app.

UPDATE - just found out that the auto-fill is no longer functional. Hopefully, it will rebuild itself in due course, as time goes on; but this is just one more piece that SHOULD NOT have been touched.

I used Clean My Mac for years and it was good. The only problem was the price and how often they charged for an upgrade. It was getting ridiculous so I said it was time to say good by. McPaws - are you listening? Enter this app - my lower cost alternative. So far I'd say it's pretty good. I do wish it had a tool bar icon for memory optimization because that's something I seem to have to do more than I'd like. Also they have some ads that pop up when you close the app (annoying). But for the most part this app seems to be doing what Clean My Mac (now fired) used to do!
