Why is the back button not prominent

Why was the back button moved to the bottom instead of the top? Why does it disappear as you're reading? When I end every article I have to quick drag the article up/down to make the button reappear and then extend reach down to click it. Please at least have back button remain on the screen. Bonus points for allowing placement along top row.

Why change a good thing ?

Remember the New Coke thing ? Well you just did it. Sad...
The latest version (feb 26) adds a new problem to the crappy version before it. Sometimes it just gets in portrait mode on its own and there's no way to bring it back without a hard close of the app.
Still not solved with the March 27th update.
Bring back the old version please...

Was working fine....

Up until today. Now the app just gets stuck at the loading screen. Guess I'll use CNET for my tech news for now...
