Customer Reviews

As someone who owns a kobo and only uses this app to browse for new books, the browsing option is USELESS.

It shows a very compact preview, no option to expand synopses, no way to purchase books or even a button to tap that says “view on kobo store!” Seriously, how hard is it to program an “open in safari” button? It’s not even in the “share” button.

I will probably end up managing all my stuff from my laptop and never use this potentially useful but actually useless app.

Kobo: One Small Issue

I love reading ebooks. From the fact that you can always have an ebook with you (as long as you have your phone or tablet nearby), to the ease of storage of many volumes, ebooks and in particular Kobo, provide a great means of accessing books. The display is great, and on my old Samsung tablet, the display of the Kobo was far superior to other ereading apps.

My one complaint continues to be related to the ipad app. Originally, on my samsung tablet, I was able to enjoy the two page (or two column) view. The two column view is not available on my Kobo app for my iOS tablet. I can change the font, justify, or adjust the margins, change the background, or switch from day to night. I cannot change from one wide page display to two. I don’t really care about being able to have many different fonts; I care more about changing the display.

Why is that a problem? I am a fast reader, and having a two page with a shorter line length means I can read two pages very quickly. It simply is not the same with the one-page, page-width sentences. I cannot speak for the actual Kobo device, but I know that the inability to adjust from a one-page display to. A two-page display is enough to make me use other ereader apps.

I don’t think this should be a difficult issue to fix. Since the Samsung app did have the two page display, it should be a small matter to make that feature available for iOS tablets. It does make a difference in readability.

Missing vertical scroll

Would be five stars for vertical scroll to read. This is available in the iBooks app but the Kobo app is better overall with pure black
