Great atmosphere - great platformer
It's easy to write LIMBO off as just a glorified Flash platformer, but in reality LIMBO is much, much more. Its eerie atmosphere and lack of clarity towards the young boy and the world you are in make it all the more unsettling. You constantly feel like you are truly exploring as each new area yields unpredictable new puzzles, environments, and foes.
Sometimes LIMBO's puzzles are too trial-and-error with reaction based introductions causing you to die from obstacles you had no idea were coming. On the other hand, LIMBO's puzzles are all fairly straight forward after a bit of thought, you are unlikely to find yourself in the same kind of jam that BRAID commonly puts you in. Quick reflexes and a nack for problem solving makes LIMBO a breeze. Don't mistake this for a criticism, LIMBO is a unique and engrossing game even if it could stand to be a bit more challenging.
Oh, best part? It's beautiful, and accessible to even moderately powerful Macs. Low graphical requirements mean there is a low bar of entry for this great game.
Simple, dark and challenging, this game doesn't disappoint those who enjoy games for the brain and imagination to see what lurks in the dark.
WAAAAAY TOO SHORT
I bought this game thinking it would be twisted and fun, it lived up to my expectations but it was way too short making it totally not worth the money but if people have the money to waste then go for it cause it was fun while it lasted.
