Vancouver’s North Shore trails are technically challenging, but there are those days when it all comes together and the results are magic. This inherent ongoing challenge fuels our passion and makes it our favourite place to ride.
The present Shore is very different from the original days. Organizations like the North Shore Mountain Bike Association (NSMBA) and local governments such as the District of North Vancouver and Metro Vancouver, work together to formalize, maintain and grow the existing trail network. The current challenge is to expand the mountain bike trail diversity to provide more accessible trails that will attract riders of all abilities. If it’s one thing the ‘Shore’ is lacking, it is easier trails, but everybody will find something fun to ride.
This guide gives you two locals’ perspective on the North Shore trail network, and we have made an effort to describe a wide range of trails that can accommodate all skill levels. Rides are presented in a graduated skill and time/length format. We also encourage you to explore on your own, and find your best routes!

Updates are needed on maps. One that comes to mind is Lower Espresso at Fromme. Lots of people are turning to Trailforks. Try it (free), you will see why.
Good but trail forks is better right now
Was on good sir martin wondering which way to go at a crossing. This map didn't show it at all, trail forks had it and updated on conditions. And trail forks is free.
This app is perfect for me. I have the paper trail maps already but I am not blessed with a great sense of direction so the ability to see where I am in relation to the trails is priceless. It is especially useful for linking together different areas of trails that I have ridden separately but not realized how close they were to each other. All the features work perfectly on my iPhone4 and the UI is intuitive. The suggested rides are a great bonus!
