Make Pixel Art is a game-like drawing environment focused on creating low-res pixelized drawings.
It's easy enough for kids to use, but fully featured enough for designers and game developers! Perfect for making avatars, Minecraft skins, sprite sheets, cross-stitch patterns, icons, and retro doodles.
"Like Photoshop for aspiring 8-bit artists."

WARNING: LANDSCAPE ONLY
I am declaring war on landscape-only apps (games excluded). I want to be able to create while holding the iPad in the most comfortable way (which for me is portrait).
Worth every penny
I've been working on putting together a lo-fi user interface for a raspberry pi project I'm working on, and this is absolutely perfect for what I need. Controls very well on the iPad, and behaves rather nicely on the 1st gen iPad. Great stuff!
Great app/constructive criticism
This app is great it really needed to be created although I do have a few constructive criticisms, (designers you may want to consider the following).
1: The color picker is a little too confusing, a simple color wheel would do the app and just fine.
2: The option of having different canvases would be great not everyone wants to make landscape. Portrait as well as a square would be nice.
3: sometimes we want to make a realistic picture of perhaps someone's face, it is a pain to go back-and-forth looking at the picture and working on the app. The app should have the option to put the image you are making behind the grid in order to make a more realistic picture.
4: when your artwork is finished you have the option to export it to your pictures on your phone or tablet but when you export your picture and go to photos it has a terrible resolution and you can barely make out what it is. This is something that should be fixed.
5: Designers could be able to use this app to their full potential, so consider a gif or animation option to really make your art come to life.
6: My last request is more layers, three is just not enough to work with. On an app like Procreate, you have the option to make more layers and even fuse them together. Sometimes when making a complex image you need more than three layers.
If the designers read this, These are the things I feel the app is missing and needs, Makepixelart is great and can be used by kids as well as the versatile needs for designers. This app has the capabilities to be great as well as complete I am rating this 4 stars and can't wait to complete this love with 5.
Up to six family members will be able to use this app with Family Sharing enabled.
