Customer Reviews

Okay, but...

I *really* wanted to like this application. Including coming back to it after giving up on it initially. I liked the interface presentation and the link to my iTunes library. But I found the controls cumbersome, specifically the volume dial and the repeat/random toggles gave me grief with my iTunes playlists. However, one single feature pushed me away from it in the end. When you run it in the background, it suddenly forces a graphical sound equalizer up onto to Apple's menu bar. I just couldn't stand the distracting graphics waving in the menu bar while I was trying to work. While you can remove the the equalizer from the interface window itself, you can't toggle off this special menu bar equalizer. Without a toggle feature to turn it off, my only option was to leave the application running in a window and tuck it behind whatever I was working on. Another iteration or such could make this a good alternative music player. But not right now.

Bad application

New to the Mac and coming from the PC world, I was lokin for a mid file player which could provide control over the playback speed, just like Windows media player. I need this to use the midi files of the songs that we sing in a choir and to be able to slow down the speed we I practice a new score. The ad for Media Player X indicated that this was feasible. But disapointed am I. The two buttons for adjusting the sound level and the speed are diffucult to handle. And, worst to worts, when slowing down the speed, it also lowers the pitch. Completely useless.

In summary: avoid this bad application.
