Native-Land.ca is a resource to help North Americans learn more about their local history. It's designed to help you see what indigenous territories and languages might have and still do exist around North America, including where you live. Treaties are also mapped.
This is an ongoing project and more territories are added regularly.
Updated wording for autocomplete. Please note the location search may not always work!

This is a brilliant app.
I love this. What a great resource. I know so much work has gone into this, hopeful for an addition that lists more specific territorial markers and maybe even list locations of reserves?
Great educational tool!
I travel a lot and love to use this app as a starting point to find information about the First People and Native American groups living in the area I’m visiting.
It is a great educational tool to show how full of different people North America was before settlers imposed their own borders onto it. I’ve had great discussions with my kids about fuzzy borders, language dialects, ancestry, adaptation to difficult environments, and even politics of traditional land claims using this app as a starting point and exploration tool.
