Photo Investigator: View, Edit, Remove Metadata; GPS, EXIF...

By Daniel Anderson

Open iTunes to buy and download apps.

Find where a photo was taken, and when (also using the action extension).
• View your GPS photos on a map.
• Remove Metadata / Edit GPS, Caption, and Timestamp (in-app purchase)
• Open the location (if available) in Waze, Apple, or Google Maps
• See all available metadata: time, location, camera, etc.

When scrolling through your photos, photos with a globe overlay have GPS metadata

Photo data may include location (if enabled by the camera), date, device, software versions, file size, file name, and more.

This app shows all possible metadata, NO MORE. This app will not guess a location for a photo which does not contain GPS Metadata. If there is not metadata about when the picture was taken, you will still see the file creation date.

To view your photos, you must allow the Photo Investigator access to your photo album. To allow the Photo Investigator to see your photos, go to the iOS Settings -> Privacy -> Photos. None of your data will ever be sent off the device.

View all photo metadata such as EXIF, TIFF, GPS, and any other available metadata. Note that GPS data will only be included if location services are enabled for the camera app in the iOS Privacy Settings. Likewise, on other cameras and smartphones, not all metadata may be attached by default. The file creation date is not a guarantee when the photo was taken, but the EXIF timestamp is the time the photo was actually taken.

To make your photos safe for sharing, remove the location from the photo with the in-app purchase.
