Description

QuickShade allows you to quickly change the display brightness on your Mac.

Because the brightness is achieved through software rather than hardware, it can be made even darker than the standard setting.

Can't believe it's free!

Works like a charm for a dual display setup even when the MacBook Pro (Intel)'s lid is closed.

I couldn't figure out how to make the shortcuts work (might be a user error) and I would love if the app could introduce automatic brightness detection!

Perfect!

I just bought an LG 27" 4K monitor whose lowest brightness can sometimes be still too bright for me. This app does exactly what I need: reduces the brightness further lower as much as needed.

Works Well, But Affects Screenshots

This app does the job well, and pretty much fixes the burn-in issues on my LG UltraFine monitor by setting it just slightly below full.

HOWEVER, it affects the screenshot capability. When Shade is enabled, and I try to take a screenshot of a Window (Cmd Shift 4 Space), I get the message "Unable to capture window image." Once I disable the app, the functionality works fine, but this is a weird bug and may be an issue if you do a lot of Window screenshots.
