What's New in Version 6.2
This new release contains key improvements to the app including:
- A detailed company stock quotes page appears when tapping on stock tickers in article pages
- A progress bar to show the status of an issue downloaded.
- An updated design that displays when an article has been saved from the navigation
- A visual label in the navigation for when articles have been read
We have many exciting enhancements on the way in the coming months. In future releases, look forward to a market data center and updates to our iPhone experience.
Crashes on opening
The app crashes and quit for me every time I launch it.
The last update freezes
I've had this app for years and the editorial content is worth every penny. But their software developers are (and have been for years) incompetent. In the latest version, if you tap on a hot linked stock symbol in an article you get a blank screen that appears to be buffering. Indefinitely. You have to turn off the phone to get back to the articles. WSJ must use the same software developers as Obamacare!
Another big fail for the latest update. My "latest news" is now four days old. Will they ever get this right? (Update: The only way I can get latest news to update is to uninstall and reinstall the app. As a subscriber who pays a great deal of money every year to WSJ, am getting extremely tired of this.) (Update 2: Even more absurd, the constant attempts to update latest news, which constantly fails, is causing battery drain on my iPad and causing the device it to heat up when I leave the app running in the background.)
