Description

TouchPlow is a convenient, easy to use tool used to connect Homeowners during snowstorms immediately with 'Snow Clearing companies' to remove snow from their driveways and walkways when needed.

* Users can request a snow plow or tractor & blower within hours of any storm or schedule a clearing when any storms starts in their area.

* By selecting the timing they prefer, the services they require such as walkway clearing or just the driveway, Users can choose a clearing plan that suits their needs and budget.

* Users register once information with information such as driveway size, location and payment details and the app will calculate the anticipated snowfall and the cost of snow-clearing for that particular storm.

* Users can also add the addresses of friends, parents, neighbours and family should they wish to have their driveways cleared as well.

* Away on holidays or just tired of shovelling the sit back put your feet up by the fire and let TouchPlow do the work for you every storm reliably, conveniently and I expensively.

Background location disclaimer: continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

Scammers

Let me make this clear. I do NOT usually leave reviews.

I’m moving into a new house and have several large and valuable items that were supposed to be dropped off later in the week. A TouchPlow driver accepted the job for $40 and promised it would be done by a certain time.

Not only was the job NOT done when I arrived at the house, TouchPlow has now charged me $65. Let me get this straight, you’re charging me more than advertised to not plow my driveway? In essence, I ended up shovelling my own driveway (took 60 minutes) and paid TouchPlow to do it.

The app also has no way to contact the driver, or the company TouchPlow itself.

TERRIBLE! Stay away.

Operators stay away

If your planning on joining keep in my that in order to get jobs you need a good rating, in order to get a rating you need to do jobs. Without a good rating jobs don’t show up on your availability list. First year they sent out an email saying that everybody was lifted from the restriction so jobs could get picked up. The second year it must have been put back because i would see the odd job here and there on the list. When I contacted them by email the CEO sent me a text saying there was no such thing. I told him about the email before and he called me a liar then got very defensive and I made the comment that I was done with the app he (Ken Dale) told me to stay home and play with myself instead. He continued on being very rude and said that I was being blocked from getting jobs. He also owns many snow removal companies in the city and is not liked very much. At work we had a run in with him training his guys before the winter behind the rink with snow, when he was asked to stop due to his guys blasting snow around the parking lot with the blowers he told us where to go. He also had the nerve to drive his truck thru our garage ( two doors on either side of the garage) He will most likely reply to this review with some BS. STAY AWAY!!!

Utterly Useless

This app is just a method for plows to fill their time if they have some. It’s never really meant to provide a method for seeking outside help to clear a driveway. Once you book and they confirm, there is no cancelling, so even if you are able to clear it or a neighbour helps, they will still charge you for doing nothing. But that is if they even confirm. The app is designed to be exploitative. It warns you if you book when it’s less than 5 cm (in current environment). This means, if it’s not actively snowing, they don’t give a proverbial poo poo about you. Of course, if it’s not snowing, it could be as high as $100 to plow, but if it IS snowing, it could be as high as $190. For example, on March 4, 2023, it snowed 10cm in Ottawa. If I request a plow that day, its $180. But it’s now March 5, 2023. I requested a plow, only to give me a warning if there’s less than 5 cm of snow, I might not get a “provider”. And it’s still $97.50 within 4 hours. An hour later, I’m still waiting. No plow cares, cause most of their work was done yesterday. There is no recourse or customer service through the app, since it’s just a platform for plows to connect to clients. So, utterly useless. Don’t bother downloading.
