About Floor

Formed in 1992, Floor made a name for themselves as a sludge metal outfit prior to breaking up in 1996. They came up with a droning, detuned guitar sound that became the band's trademark. The band came back together to write new material in 2001. It was then that the band began incorporating poppier influences, including Hüsker Dü and Guided by Voices. This would be the foundation for 2002's Floor, the band's first full-length release. Although members branched into other projects, including Torche and Dove, the trio eventually reunited in 2010 to play a handful of shows. Floor continued to tour and, tired of playing the same songs, began writing again. Floor eventually made their long-awaited return in 2014 with Oblation. ~ Gregory Heaney
