About Joey Trap
Rapper Joey Trap made his name by shrewdly flipping innocent cartoon theme songs into R-rated tracks. • The NYC native moved to San Diego when he was 15. One of his main influences was Lil Wayne, whom he’d do his best to impersonate. • The “Trap” in his stage name stands for “Take Risks and Prosper.” • In 2017, he racked up millions of streams with “Sesame Street” and “I Got Top in Bikini Bottom,” both of which pair explicit lyrics with samples from children’s TV shows. The tracks were removed from streaming services for copyright violation. * In 2020, he released the full-lengths Wild West, STFU, Champ, and Playlist for the End of the World.
