About Matt Cameron

One of the most versatile and high-profile drummers to emerge from the Seattle grunge scene, Matt Cameron is widely acclaimed for his work with Soundgarden and Pearl Jam. A member of the seminal grunge outfit Skin Yard in the late '80s, Cameron came to wider attention after joining Soundgarden, making vital contributions to each of the group's albums, including Badmotorfinger, Superunknown, Down on the Upside, and King Animal. Following their breakup, he joined Pearl Jam, playing on all of their albums from 2000's Binaural to 2020's Gigaton. He has collaborated on a handful of other projects, including the jazz group Tone Dogs, the psychedelic side project Wellwater Conspiracy, and Drumgasm. He eventually reunited with Soundgarden and remained with the group from 2010 until the death of lead singer Chris Cornell in 2017. That same year, he debuted his solo project Cavedweller with drummer Mark Guiliana and bassist Tim Lefebvre.
