Midori Seiler

About Midori Seiler

With a crisp style rooted in forceful precision and a knack for rhythmic intricacy, violinist Midori Seiler traverses music from the Baroque, Classical, and Romantic eras with ease. Born in 1969, the Bavarian Japanese musician grew up in Salzburg, Austria, as the daughter of two pianists. Although she studied with contemporary musicians in Switzerland and London, her experience working with experts in ancient music led to her joining and becoming one of the concertmasters of the orchestra Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin. Starting in 2001, Seiler was also the concertmaster of Anima Eterna Brugge, a classical orchestra that favours music of the Romantic era and the early 20th century. As a soloist, she has released nuanced interpretations of Bach and Mozart violin sonatas and teamed up with Concerto Köln for 2018’s majestic and emotional Vivaldi: La Venezia di Anna Maria.
