Byron Blum, Melissa Blue, and Seth Sutton make up the mysterious San Francisco-based garage-punk-with-synths trio POW! After releasing a single in 2011 ("Pretend There"), they were discovered by John Dwyer, like-minded head of Castle Face Records and leader of Thee Oh Sees. He asked them to make a record, they did, and the resulting lo-fi, hi-energy Hi-Tech Boom was released in 2014. The band also put out another single that year ("One Eyed Scorpion") for Glazer Records and added Seth Sutton (who had already played drums on some of their recordings and was in the band Useless Eaters with Blum). Second album Fight Fire, a much cleaner and sleeker affair, was released by Castle Face in 2015. ~ Tim Sendra
