About Sandy Kelly

Sandy Kelly is best known as a singer of warm, lilting country music in the vein of her multi-occasion duet partner, Willie Nelson, and Patsy Cline, whom she portrayed on the West End. After stints in the Fairways and family act the Duskeys, she went solo with 1985's Paradise Tonight, a major-label release featuring sleek pop production. However, beginning with the success of "Woodcarver," her 1989 duet with Johnny Cash, and her version of the country classic "Crazy" -- both from her 1989 LP I Need to Be in Love -- she devoted her talents to country music. 1993's Kelly's Heroes was a star-studded affair that included duets with Willie Nelson, Glen Campbell, and many more. The compilation The Voice of Sandy Kelly: The Songs of Patsy Cline appeared in 2010, and her first solo album in 30 years, the John Carter Cash-produced Leaving It All Behind, arrived in 2023.
