About Sons and Daughters

Their name comes from a dream of Bob Dylan that singer Adele Bethel hazily remembered, and their sound mixes dark Americana and Scottish pop, but the Glaswegian quartet defy simple definitions. Formed in 2002 after two members had met on tour with Arab Strap, Sons & Daughters shared an interest in punchy 2-3 minute pop songs with depth. Rickety blues and post-punk inflected albums like their 2003 debut EP LOVE THE CUP and their most recent THIS GIFT have Blondie’s color and style, colored with the dark wit and nimble guitars of the Smiths.
