Formed in Minneapolis in 2003, the quirky indie-rock quartet Tapes ‘N Tapes released a debut EP to much acclaim the following year. Its growing reputation for performing imaginative, eclectic, fractured pop in the Pavement mold was enhanced by its full-length debut, 2005’s THE LOON, which displayed growing artistic confidence as well as technical expertise.
