About True Love

Inspired by such artists as Cheap Trick, Elvis Costello, and other legends of '70s melodic pop, the New Jersey-based rock ensemble True Love features the talents of three singer/songwriters: Ray Kubian, Keith Hartel, and the Squirrel. Formed in 1999, partly out of mutual disgust over the failure of each member's previous band, the group released its self-titled debut album on Cropduster in 2001. The following year found True Love backing one of its idols, Television guitarist Richard Lloyd. The group finally released its sophomore effort, I Was Accident, on Not Lame Records in 2003. Wings followed three years later. ~ Matt Collar
