A STAND ALONE story in the bestselling SIX PACK RANCH series by New York Times Bestselling Author Vivian Arend
The best type of growing up involves getting down and dirty
Vicki Hansol made different choices than her less-than-reputable mom and sister, yet her fiery temper has left her branded with the same town-bad-girl label. When she desperately needs a change of scenery, her get-out-of-town-free ticket arrives—and requires she face down one of her deepest fears.
Easygoing Joel Coleman has nothing to complain about, but he’s never really done anything to brag about either. The youngest member of the Six Pack Ranch is looking to make some changes in his life that include stepping out from under his twin brother’s shadow.
So when the bold beauty with the smart mouth approaches him with a proposition, Joel is intrigued. Her request for him to teach her to ride soon takes on a whole new meaning. All that passion in his arms, his bed, in the barn…hell, anywhere he can get it? Bring it on.
But tangling the sheets leads to unanticipated complications, and by the time the dust settles, everything family means is going to be challenged.
Caution: Saddle up for some youthful vigour applied with great enthusiasm. Ropes, rails and raunchy sex—there’s more places to get dirty around the ranch than first meets the eye.

Breaking out of your world
Yummy, yum, yum - ah young love!! So Joel is up this round, but we get a few glimpses into the rest of Coleman's as well. Joel and Jesse are all done university and home working on the ranch. They have moved into a trailer of their own on Coleman land, and now that they are done school, Joel is done with sharing with Jesse and partying all the time - he wants to mature. Vicki has been dealing with being the centre of gossip and snubbing all her life due to her mother and older sister and their sexual exploits. Nothing has ever been specifically said about her, but her name alone has her tarred with the same brush. Joel has been attracted to her since her returned but lets her reputation keep him away, he is trying to change his own. When Vicki has an opportunity to move out of town in the spring, she jumps at the chance, but has to overcome her adversity to horses over the fall and winter to take advantage of the opportunity. She turns to the only person who has been kind to her and knows about horses, Joel. They determine that they can help each other, he will help her with horses and they will help each others reputations by dating, really dating with all the bells and whistles, until she leaves. She confesses she has never had any boyfriend and wants to learn everything from Joel, and considers with his reputation, he will be a perfect teacher. He is floored by her confession but agrees
Thus begins one of the most fun, exciting and energetic courtships you will read. The fact these two are having fun and everything is new for them both is apparent. Winning over his family to prove she is her own person and not her family's reputation shocks him when disdain comes from unexpected places. Also unexpected is where support comes from as we see hints of Travis growing up!
No big blowups mar their relationship, they both knew at the beginning she would be leaving in the spring, and that fact alone and when they both realize it is ending breaks your heart more than any fight or misunderstanding ever could
I love this series and it just keeps getting better - know that we are checking more couples off the family list, we get more check-ins with them rather have their stories invade in spots. It was perfect that the story acknowledged that these two were so young, Vicki just turned 21 before the end of the book, and had lots of time to accomplish goals in their lives and didn't need to rush into everything right away!
