When their shuttle bus crashes in the Sierra Mountains, two brothers and four strangers find themselves marooned in the midst of a thunderstorm with death staring them in the face. Before long, they are rescued by a mysterious man who invites everyone to take shelter at his log house nestled in the barren woods. Here they will stay until the storm subsides, but the house has its own plan for its new guests... and the vengeful spirits inside want bloodshed.
i really liked this film. hooked till the credits rolled.
I really like Val Kilmer so I'm sad to see him in yet another low-budget C-movie which makes no sense. The premise is wrong, the logic in every scene is wrong. To be trapped in a house because a bush blocked the road? Why not remove the bush and continue? Why pick up someone on the road and bring that person back to the house to be trapped. I loved the scene where the husband (Kilmer) dies-his wife more interested in sitting in another room. I mean-what wife leaves you alone? It goes on and on. Its so bad it is sad. Sometimes in B-movies, it is so bad it is funny but here-I just get depressed. I managed to watch 2/3 of the movie but at that stage, I just gave up-after all, Val was dead so I lost interest completely. Annoyed that I spent the money renting this, very happy I did not buy it. iTunes seems to be raking the bottom of the barrel nowadays, a lot of fillers without content (I'm really into horror and action so don't get me wrong).
I knew this was a low budget film but the trailer made it seem entertaining with good actors (and many low-budget, B-movies are great for entertainment). This was not the case for this movie. The opening scene sets the pace for the rest of the film- terrible acting and bad script (though I admit I skipped the middle to see how it ends).
I won't complain about the rental price ONLY because this movie introduced me to a couple good songs I hadn’t heard before.
