Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: [An] endearing muddle, which flails in search of an identity. – Ben Kenigsberg, New York Times, Aug 21, 2014

Rotten: In Mad Men mastermind Matthew Weiner's big-screen directorial debut, the aggressively unfunny Are You Here, all of the dark humor and delicate character shadings we're used to seeing on his TV series are conspicuously absent. – Chris Nashawaty, Entertainment Weekly, Aug 13, 2014

Rotten: It's so formless, awkward and jarringly directed it's almost unwatchable. – Claudia Puig, USA Today, Aug 21, 2014

Rotten: This sorry misfire will provide enjoyment only for rival television creatives invidiously rooting for Matthew Weiner to stumble. – David Rooney, Hollywood Reporter, Sep 9, 2013

Usually i enjoy Owen Wilson movies but this really fell flat - save your money on this one!

These 2 guys are too good for this crud. What happened?

I don’t think either of these guys needs the money, nor are either of them hurting for offers to work. Did their agents trick them into this? Were they doing a struggling director a favor? No comedic timing. Bad cinematography. No flow. Its like some Producer just said ‘Lets hit the road and shoot some stuff and people will see it and pay for it.’ - Well, they tricked me. Don’t let them trick you. Thanks Zack & Owen, enjoy my money.

Terribly boring

Three of us watched it, three of us fell asleep at varying times throughout.
