Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: By the climax, at which all right-thinking viewers will have dissolved in a puddle of warm appreciation, the new Pixar film has earned two cheers and a big bear hug. – Richard Corliss, TIME Magazine, Nov 18, 2013

Fresh: The story, with its patchwork of plots (involving feuding clans and disastrous spells), holds together enough to thrill intermittently. – Bruce Diones, New Yorker, Jul 2, 2012

Rotten: The main problem is that Merida craves adventure but Brave limits her to mother-daughter psychodrama. – Rafer Guzman, Newsday, Nov 18, 2013

Fresh: The story for this revisionist fairy tale, which promotes contemporary attitudes about parenting and gender equality, is less inspired than usual for Pixar, but the movie upholds the studio's high standard of computer animation. – Ben Sachs, Chicago Reader, Nov 18, 2013

Amazing movie

Our fate lives within us

I was expecting a lot from "Brave." I was excited for the darker more mature tone, female protagonist, animation, and the fairy tale aspect to the story. But this movie makes a move at the end of the first act that you either can go with and enjoy the rest of the movie, or not go with it and get bored with the rest of the movie. Luckily, I loved the twist and showcases Merida's heroism and BRAVERY;) this movie did not disappoint me and the final act of the movie had me tearing up. A must see! One of Pixar's best!<3

If you had a chance to change your Fate

I loved this movie, I cry every time I hear the soundtrack. Beautiful animation, lifelike characters. Disney has outdone itself!!!!💚
