Fresh: Bridesmaids is likely to be a hit with both women and men, being half formula chick-flick, half raunchy comedy of humiliation. It's hilarious -- and too bifurcated to be satisfying.
Fresh: The star and co-writer of Bridesmaids, Kristen Wiig, puts herself and her female co-stars through the comedy wringer.
Fresh: A confident, self-assured comedy with nothing to prove. Fresh, occasionally foul-mouthed, and funny.
Fresh: Finally, a female ensemble comedy that balances realistic characters with smart laughs and side-splitting farce.
this movie had me in stitches! i love seeing women take over the big screen in a comedy! This movie is so funny!
90% from Rotten Tomatoes? Really?
I'm shocked by the 90% rating of this movie by Rotten Tomatoes. It was very predictable and full of clichés. In terms of laughs, I guess it was funny if you like really obvious and unsubtle humour. This movie feels at least 20 years old. I wish we have gone past all these stereotypes in terms of the stigma of being a single woman. I know some things were probably true to life in terms of petty jealousies between women, but these were portrayed in such a heavy handed manner that it was embarrassing to watch. Maybe the attraction to this movie is its lack of intellectual rigour. Perhaps people are attracted to movies where thinking isn't a prerequisite. The acting was ok but the writing was so poor. I am definitely not going to trust Rotten Tomatoes ratings again.
I though it would be like the hangover but it's just women and jealousy. Nothing special, it defiantly had potential but it didn't get there. :(
