Plot Summary

Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford star in this action-packed sci-fi western from the director of Iron Man (Jon Favreau) that critics call “wickedly original, unlike anything you’ve ever seen” (Jake Hamilton, Fox-TV Houston, TX). A stranger (Craig) stumbles into the desert town of Absolution with no memory of his past and a futuristic shackle around his wrist. With the help of mysterious beauty Ella (Olivia Wilde) and the iron-fisted Colonel Dolarhyde (Ford), he finds himself leading an unlikely posse of cowboys, outlaws, and Apache warriors against a common enemy from beyond this world in an epic showdown for survival.

Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: Takes itself much too seriously, with acts of brutality outnumbering the gags. – Anthony Lane, New Yorker, Aug 8, 2011

Rotten: The cowboys: great. The aliens: not so much. There's fun to be had here, but it falls way short of the pulp classic it could have been. – Film4, Aug 24, 2011

Fresh: There is nothing that fascinating about Favreau's treatment, nor his source material, but compared with similar blockbuster fare of recent months, this curious exercise in genre bending is very watchable. – Ed Gibbs, Sydney Morning Herald, Aug 19, 2011

Fresh: If you can swallow the shameless set-up, it's all highly entertaining. – David Sexton, This is London, Aug 19, 2011

Really good

Well the tittle of this review speaks for its self... Really Good!

Boring over a little action.

The movie has a good premise but awful execution. The movie was loaded with stars but the story was in places very boring and somewhat stilted. Too many subplots that aren't adequately explained. The action scenes were okay which in my point of view saves the film. Bottom line I wished I rented the movie instead of buying it!!

Should of guessed with that king of title

The movie is a disaster. The action scenes savez it all.the acting is not even up to standards with the big names in that film. They had soooooo much potential and they screwed it up. Story has no depth, subplots never go anywhere or really bring any depth to the movie in itself.

Actors of experience and good action scenes , 2 stars. Gimme a good stroy ...
