About the Movie

After receiving a mysterious gift from her dying grandmother, Claire takes her new boyfriend home to meet her family who live on an isolated property in the country. The family reunion begins well but Claire soon becomes increasingly uneasy with her grandmother’s medicated mumblings about a screaming banshee intent on coming for her during the night. It’s not long before the family’s worst fears become their reality as the banshee and her army of undead arrive to unleash blood soaked fury on them all.

Damned at Dawn

This movie was exellently made i saw it twice. It was really scary. Expecially the banshee. Bleeding from her eyes that was just terrifiying. Good scary movie.

Could have been good.

I really wanted to like this movie. The plot was interesting and different from your typical ghost and/or vampire film, taking a lesser-popularized 'creature of the night' and making something new of it. However, this was not a good movie. I watched it with another person and halfway through we'd both lost interest but thought that maybe it would get better. As it turns out, the beginning of this film is actually the better half. This movie is over-the-top in it's special effects and make-up (though the make-up on the Banshee was very well done, but the grandmother looked scarier than the Banshee when she was just "ill") and yet doesn't do enough. There's a group of characters called "The Undead" who are basically CGI-made images floating around which really ruined the scariness of the movie. It could have been good. The actors were really very good, but the direction was terrible. Whenever anyone died I really didn't care because it didn't really seem like any of the other characters cared either because they were never given a platform to. Also, relax with the smoke machines. We get it: it's creepy and it's stormy. Tons of fog billowing around doesn't make this movie any more believable or make you interested in watching the last half of it.
