About the Movie
The 2006 show at Montreux has the band playing a pretty tight show with all the classics and a generous portion of the latest disc, Rapture of the Deep. Ian Paice makes a great save after a stick drop, and has a great night throughout along with Glover, Morse, and Airey. However, it was not the best night for Ian Gillan. He sounds quite hoarse and is often out of key. The encores are pretty much ruined by the appearance of producer Michael Bradford on this very annoying wah-wah guitar. Joining the stage with Bradford was a bearded man I have never seen or heard of before singing along with Gillan very sloppily. It was very cool to see Claude Nobs onstage with the band playing some harmonica, but Bradford and this bearded guy did the band no favours whatsover by being there - especially during the encores.
