About the Movie

In the comedy "Ghost Town," Bertram Pincus (Ricky Gervais) is a man whose people skills leave much to be desired. When Pincus dies unexpectedly and but is miraculously revived after seven minutes, he wakes up to discover that he now has the annoying ability to see ghosts. Even worse, they all want something from him, particularly Frank Herlihy (Greg Kinnear), who pesters him into breaking up the impending marriage of his widow Gwen (Téa Leoni). That puts Pincus squarely in the middle of a triangle, with spirited results.

Funny and sweet. I was surprised at how much I loved this movie.

Whether the funniest scenes were written by Ricky (who was asked to contribute to the script), or written to emulate him, Gervais's unique brand of comedy surprised critics across America, who gave Ghost Town more positive reviews than any comedy this year. Not surprising for a guy who's often introduced as the funniest man in the world. Those who have not seen The Office or Extras will also be surprised by Ricky's ability to bring so much depth to the film, alongside Greg Kinnear and Tea Leoni, two actors who manage to raise the bar in every role they partake. All-in-all Ghost Town's plot is mostly formulaic due to it being written by David Keopp, slave to the mundane, who wrote 'knowledge is their treasure' in the latest Indiana Jones film. However, in this case the cast is great and thanks to Ricky it's actually funny in an original way, making it an anomaly in its genre.

I rather enjoyed this movie. I did think it could have been better and like all movies, it had it's ups and downs but I think it was a sweet, happy, funny and well, sad movie. I would recommend it! The dude from the office is in it! - That was an up!

What more could you ask of a movie ? It's amazingy funny, from childish humor to adult humor, it has an amazing plot, it's got romance for people who like romance, and a pretty cute ending; And that's coming from a 15 year old guy. It deserves all it's 5 stars, although I'm sure the movie could have done better if it had better known actors or had at least been put in theatres, or at least a better trailer. Fan of romance, cute movies, comedy ? I promise you'll love it
