Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: Onscreen, "High-Rise" is curiously inert. The themes don't resonate, and the story lags and lumbers. – A.O. Scott, New York Times, May 12, 2016

Rotten: It could take decades for critics and audiences to appreciate whatever genius lurks behind the chaos, but for the time being, it seems like little more than madness. – Peter Debruge, Variety, May 18, 2016

Fresh: Director Ben Wheatley ("Kill List") is masterful with arresting imagery set in a dystopian spin on the '70s; less so with a compelling narrative. – Sara Stewart, New York Post, May 13, 2016

Fresh: High-Rise switches genres effortlessly - black humour one moment, dystopic parable the next - until it becomes its own singular, horrifying, immensely captivating thing. – Barry Hertz, Globe and Mail, May 20, 2016

Wtf

Dear Apple,

I'd really appreciate a full refund for this movie. We had not a single clue what was going on nor what this movie was about.

Awful

Such a bad awful movie!!!! I don't know why it cost $8

?

I tried, I really tried. I wish I had read the other reviews before renting it. This movie is exactly as they say. I gave it one star because I couldn't give it less.
