About the Movie

Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy lead an all-star cast in this hilarious unrated version of the comedy blockbuster. Unlimited funds have allowed Diana (McCarthy) to live it up on the outskirts of Orlando. There’s only one glitch: she’s financing her shopping sprees with an ID stolen from Sandy Patterson (Bateman), an accounts rep who lives halfway across the U.S. With only one week to hunt down the con artist before his world implodes, the real Sandy Patterson is forced to extreme measures to clear his name.

Rotten: [A] sloppily made exercise of rip-offs and redemption. – Linda Barnard, Toronto Star, Feb 8, 2013

Rotten: "Identity Thief" is a cheap copy of much better comedies. – Richard Roeper, Richard Roeper.com, Feb 8, 2013

Rotten: You don't care enough about these people to want to see them come out on top. – Wesley Morris, Grantland, Jan 3, 2014

The worst

This is the worst movie ever. When I am on my deathbed I will think back and regret watching this movie instead of sitting on the couch doing nothing.

predictable rubbish

boring, predictable, nothing good to say about it. Didn't finish it, just couldn't.

Watch the trailer instead

This is a film whose trailer contains almost every worthwhile comedic scene in the entire film. If you think about it, the majority of the jokes are simply based on someone being either: overweight, unfashionable, or having a feminin name.
The gaping holes in this film's logic would be excusable had it actually been funny.
